Explain about Cognos TM1 Server certificate and its operation

Image
IBM Cognos TM1 is an Analytical web Processing (OLAP) software tool that analyzes data stored during a database. IBM Cognos TM1 may be a client-server environment that stands for "Tables Manager 1". A TM1 developer also can build complete planning, budgeting, and forecast models in an analysis application. Its advice is to research the info consumption to eight dimensions. It consists of remote TM1 servers such as: TM1 Architect, Client, Web Client Perspectives What is a cube in TM1? A TM1 cube may be a multidimensional database containing a minimum of two dimensions and one fact. The data loaded into the cube, making use of a mediator process. Each cube can expand to look at all the sizes that structure the cube. There are few types of cubes in TM1 Standard  Control cubes can manage the data structures inside the cube. Virtual cubes can’t display the cube but it views the quality of it. Lookup cubes used when it starts searching for data structures to access its specified ...

Explain about Cognos TM1 feeders

Image
The IBM Cognos TM1 calculation engine uses FEEDERS to help manage sparsity in cubes with SKIP CHECK enabled. There may be rule calculations for certain cubes, but they are extremely small or dense and may not need SKIP CHECK,More info go through Cognos TM1 Course . Feeders FEEDERS classify the cells in a cube which may contain a measured value based on a rule and ensure that these values are included in the calculation of the aggregation. SkipCheck SKIP CHECK is a keyword entered at the top of a rule file that makes the sparse data consolidation algorithm of TM1 possible. Usually, cubes using SKIP CHECK would require FEEDERS, another keyword entered in a rule file later on. For more on SKIP CHECK, please refer to section 2.3. Why FEEDERS for use? OLAP cubes can be very sparsely populated as it is very important to handle data within TM1 cubes. Examples of problems facing the construction of the TM1 Cubes are below. Example 1- Cube Sales Take a sales cube with the following dimens...

IBM Cognos Transformer

In this lesson, we will discuss The IBM Cognos Transformer IBM Cognos Transformer IBM Cognos Transformer is a simple tool for modeling dimensional hierarchies and levels for PowerCubes. We can use this data modeling tool or component to create a model, a business presentation of the information in one or more data sources. A model can contain any number of regular or calculated measures, together with logical groupings that use measure folders.     Cognos Transformer After you choose a supported product locale (language), add dimensional metadata, specify the measures(performance indicators) and apply custom views, you can create PowerCubes based on this model. You can deploy these cubes to support OLAP reporting and analysis.A regular measure is numeric data in a transactional data source. A calculated measure is new numeric data that is derived from other measures, functions, and constants, such as Profit, which is calculated from the measures Revenue and Cost.A measure...

The IBM Cognos TM1 programming environment

In this lesson, we will discuss The IBM Cognos TM1 programming environment The API is intended to give access to many of the features and functionality of the TM1 OLAP engine. The API is designed for use with Microsoft C, C++ and Microsoft Visual Basic. All the C functions are supported by Microsoft Visual Basic. However, some of the string and array value handling functions have a special version for Microsoft Visual Basic. You should use these functions if you are programming in Microsoft Visual Basic. For C and C++ applications, include the header file TM1API.H. For Microsoft Visual Basic applications, include the file TM1API.BAS. The API has been optimized for use in a networked environment. As a result, the conventions used vary markedly from those used in other Application Programming Interfaces you may be familiar with. For example, all values are passed as pointers or handles to  value capsules  that contain the actual data.   Location of the IBM Cognos TM1...
